Today, Xiaobian will analyze the main technical performance of brass valves from seven aspects: light performance, sealing performance, flowing medium, opening and closing force and opening and closing torque, opening and closing speed, operating sensitivity and reliability, and service life. I hope it will be helpful for everyone to understand the products of brass valve manufacturers.

Strength performance

The strength performance of the copper valve refers to the ability of the copper valve to withstand the pressure of the medium. Copper valves are mechanical products that can withstand internal pressure, so they must have sufficient strength and rigidity to ensure long-term use without cracking or deformation.

2.Sealing performance

The sealing performance of a copper valve refers to the ability of each sealing part of the copper valve to prevent medium leakage. It is the most important technical performance index of a copper valve. There are three sealing positions of the copper valve: the contact between the opening and closing member and the two sealing surfaces of the valve seat; the combination of the packing with the valve stem and the stuffing box; and the connection between the valve body and the valve cover. The previous leak is called internal leakage, which is commonly referred to as improper closing. It will affect the ability of the copper valve to cut off the medium. For shut-off valves, internal leakage is not allowed. The latter two leaks are called external leaks, that is, the medium leaks from the inside of the valve to the outside of the valve. Leakage can cause material loss, pollute the environment, and cause accidents in severe cases. For flammable, explosive, toxic or radioactive media, leakage is not allowed. Therefore, copper valves must have reliable sealing performance.

3. flowing medium

After the medium flows through the copper valve, there will be a pressure loss (the pressure difference between the copper valve and the copper valve), that is, the copper valve has a certain resistance to the flow of the medium, and the medium needs to consume a certain amount of energy to overcome the resistance of the copper valve. From the perspective of energy conservation, when designing and manufacturing copper valves, the resistance of copper valves to flowing media should be reduced as much as possible.

4.Opening and closing force and opening and closing moment

The opening and closing force and opening and closing moment refer to the force or moment that must be applied to the copper valve to open or close. When closing the copper valve, it is necessary to form a certain sealing specific pressure between the opening and closing member and the two sealing surfaces of the hair seat. At the same time, it is necessary to overcome the valve stem and the packing, the valve stem and the nut thread, and the end support of the valve stem. And other frictional parts of friction, so a certain closing force and closing torque must be applied. During the opening and closing process of the copper valve, the required opening and closing force and opening and closing torque are changed. The maximum value is at the final instant of closing. Or the first moment of opening. When designing and manufacturing copper valves, they should strive to reduce their closing force and closing torque.

5.Opening and closing speed

The opening and closing speed is expressed by the time required for the copper valve to complete an opening or closing action. Generally there is no strict requirement for the opening and closing speed of copper valves, but some conditions have special requirements for the opening and closing speed. If required, they should be opened or closed quickly to prevent accidents, and some require to be closed slowly to prevent water hammer. This should be considered when selecting copper valve types.

6. Motion sensitivity and reliability

This refers to the sensitivity of the copper valve to the corresponding changes in media parameters. The functional sensitivity and reliability are very important technical performance indicators for copper valves with specific functions, such as throttle valves, pressure reducing valves, regulating valves and other copper valves used to adjust media parameters, and safety valves and traps.

7. Service life

It indicates the durability of copper valves, is an important performance indicator of copper valves, and has great economic significance. It is usually expressed by the number of openings and closings that can guarantee the sealing requirements, and it can also be expressed by the use time.
